An Urgent Appeal For Support For Syrian Refugee Children in Turkey
Luna's support has been urgently requested to help Syrian and Turkish psychologists working in Turkey, to improve the effectiveness of treatment available to Syrian children suffering from the acute symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Our support is needed to provide them with CATT training, which is so desperately needed by those who are treating children on the border with Syria, Syrian refugees who have crossed the Turkish border and children and young people in local refugee camps.
To respond to this request, we must raise £16,550 to send 3 qualified CATT trainers to Turkey to provide an intensive training and support programme for 10 Syrian and Turkish professionals in March 2014.

Luna Children's Charity is a child-centred voluntary organisation, which exists to advance the rights, education and health of children and young people affected by conflict and trauma.
Established in 2008, Luna's main focus is training in the treatment of trauma in children and young people. We train established therapists in the UK and overseas to teach local people how to help children and young people in their community. We work through local organisations, which host our training programmes.
As a charity involved in the delivery of therapy to children, we are committed to ensuring the highest standards of practice. We monitor our outcomes as consistently as possible, so that we have evidence of the effectiveness of our work.
